Overview

The Datadog integration monitors your organization’s infrastructure and security observability: monitors, incidents, users, hosts, and security signals. LowerPlane uses read-only access via the Datadog API to collect compliance evidence automatically.

Prerequisites

You need Admin rights in Datadog to create API and Application keys.

How to Get Your Credentials

Create an API Key

Go to Datadog’s Organization Settings and click New Key. Enter a name (e.g., “LowerPlane Access”) and click Create Key. Copy and store the API key securely.

Create an Application Key

Navigate to Application Keys and click New Key. Enter a name (e.g., “LowerPlane Access”) and click Create Key. Copy and store the Application key securely.

Add Scopes to Application Key

Click Edit on your new Application key and add the following scopes:
  • monitors_read — Read monitor configurations and status
  • user_access_read — Read user and role information
  • incident_read — Read incident data
Click Save to complete configuration.

Connect to LowerPlane

Navigate to Integrations

Go to Integrations from the main navigation and search for Datadog.

Enter Credentials

Provide the following:
  • API Key — The API key created in step 1
  • Application Key — The Application key created in step 2
  • Region — Select your Datadog site region (US1, US3, US5, EU1, or AP1) from the dropdown

Connect

Click Connect to establish the integration. LowerPlane will validate your credentials and begin the initial sync.
Find your region from your Datadog browser address bar: app.datadoghq.com = US1, us3.datadoghq.com = US3, us5.datadoghq.com = US5, app.datadoghq.eu = EU1, ap1.datadoghq.com = AP1.
