Overview

The Zendesk integration monitors your support platform: users, organizations, and groups. LowerPlane uses read-only access via an API Token to collect compliance evidence automatically.

Prerequisites

You need Zendesk Admin permissions to enable and generate API tokens.

How to Get Your API Token

1

Log in to Zendesk

Log in to your Zendesk instance at https://<your-subdomain>.zendesk.com.
2

Enable API token access

Go to Admin Center > Apps and Integrations > APIs > Zendesk API. Ensure token access is enabled.
3

Create an API token

Click Add API Token, give it a name like “LowerPlane”, and copy the generated token.
4

Note your subdomain and email

Your Subdomain is the part before .zendesk.com in your URL. You will also need the email address associated with your admin account.

Connecting in LowerPlane

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in LowerPlane
  2. Find Zendesk under Communication
  3. Enter your Subdomain, Email, and API Token
  4. Click Connect
Zendesk API authentication uses the format email/token with your API token as the password.
